About me and what I make

I started to crochet in 2002, learning alongside my crochet companion and constant source of inspiration, ana voog. Back in our summer of courtship back in 1988, my husband taught me how to knit but though I had fun with it, it only evolved to a certain level for creativity for me. Crochet is so much less confining. It opened up deeper pools of creativity for me. I was getting ideas for things that involved yarn that was not around anywhere at that time. I wanted to do my own experimentation and be part of the process of creation, so I started to spin. All crocheted or knit objects are made freeform meaning I don't follow patterns and that each item is unique. All yarns are handspun by me.

I also compose music for Indonesian Gamelan instruments, artwork for Project Art for Nature, and I study bumblebees.

My work has been featured in several fashion shows.
